US President Donald Trump has officially declared his support for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, 2026.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the US President made the announcement via his Truth Social platform.
"I support Nikol's re-election on June 7, 2026," the US leader emphasized in his statement.
President Trump noted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had previously visited Armenia to secure progress on several agreements deemed critical for both nations. The President further added that the United States and Armenia are set to launch the "Trump Route" (TRIPP) project, an initiative designed to reshape the South Caucasus and facilitate access for US energy companies to the region's resources.
The upcoming Armenian elections are viewed as a pivotal moment for the country's foreign policy trajectory. Armenia, a landlocked nation in the South Caucasus, has been navigating complex geopolitical shifts in the region, balancing its traditional security alliances with efforts to deepen economic and political ties with Western partners, including the United States.
