The State Examination Center (SEC) of Azerbaijan will hold a retake of the general (9-year) secondary education exams on June 21, 2026. This decision follows adverse weather conditions that affected exam processes in several parts of Baku, Absheron, and Sumgait on May 17.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the SEC, only students and applicants who were scheduled to take the exams in the specified cities are eligible to participate. Registration for college applicants wishing to retake the exam will be open on the SEC website from May 25 to May 26. The retake is free of charge for those who missed the May 17 exam due to weather-related delays, while those who already sat the exam can retake it upon paying the standard fee.
For 9th-grade students who did not apply for college admission but need to take the graduation exam, applications can be submitted to their respective schools from May 25 to May 27. Alternatively, students who choose not to participate in the June 21 session can opt for the traditional exams scheduled for September. The SEC regularly manages centralized entrance and graduation examinations across Azerbaijan to ensure standardized educational assessments.
