At least 16 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank as a result of operations and attacks by the Israeli military since the beginning of the year.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing international media outlets, that the victims of these incidents range in age from 13 to 60 years old. According to official data, the intensity of confrontations has escalated significantly, with the Israeli military and settlers reportedly carrying out 1,819 attacks against Palestinians and their property during the month of March alone.
The report further highlights a sharp increase in violence since October 2023. During this period, at least 1,149 Palestinians have lost their lives in the West Bank, while approximately 11,750 people have been wounded. Additionally, nearly 22,000 individuals have been detained by security forces as tensions continue to mount across the region.
The West Bank, a territory situated between Israel and Jordan, has remained a focal point of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for decades. The recent surge in casualties and military activity follows the broader escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, which has drawn international concern regarding the humanitarian situation and the safety of civilians. Global diplomatic efforts continue to seek a de-escalation of the violence to prevent further loss of life in the occupied territories.
