Weather conditions across Azerbaijan on February 15 are expected to vary significantly by region, with contrasting patterns between the capital and the rest of the country.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that while rainy and mild weather will be observed in Baku, temperatures in the regions are forecast to rise as high as 22°C.
In the capital, the weather will be changeably cloudy, with rain expected in some areas during the first half of the day. A north-west wind, occasionally strengthening in the morning, will be replaced by a mild north-east wind during the day. Temperatures will range from 5-9°C at night to 14-16°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will rise sharply from 754 mm to 767 mm Hg, while humidity levels will stand at 70-80%.
In the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather will be mostly rainless; however, short-term precipitation is expected in some areas during the night and morning, with snow forecast for mountainous regions.
- Temperature (Lowlands): 4-9°C at night, 17-22°C during the day.
- Temperature (Mountains): 3-8°C at night, 15-20°C during the day.
- Fog: Foggy conditions will be observed in some regions during the night and morning hours.
Such sharp fluctuations in atmospheric pressure and temperature are characteristic of the transitional weather patterns often seen in Azerbaijan during the month of February. The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these changes to provide timely updates for the public and various sectors, including agriculture and transportation, which are sensitive to sudden shifts in weather conditions.
