İlham Əliyevin bu təklifi ilə dərhal razılaşdım - Pelleqrini

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has stated that he immediately accepted an invitation from President Ilham Aliyev to conduct official negotiations in the city of Shusha. Pellegrini shared details regarding this diplomatic visit during an interview with the "AnewZ" television channel.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Slovak leader noted that while he had visited Azerbaijan previously, this marked his first trip to Shusha. "The idea (to hold talks in Shusha - ed.) belonged to President Ilham Aliyev. He asked me if I would agree to have the official welcoming ceremony and all other key events held in Shusha instead of Baku. Of course, I agreed immediately, because I know the history of this land," Pellegrini stated.

The Slovak President further expressed his admiration for the extensive reconstruction efforts currently underway in the region. "I must say that from the very first minute, our entire delegation was impressed by the large-scale investments made in infrastructure and everything that is happening here," he added. President Pellegrini visited Azerbaijan on an official trip from July 13 to 15.

Shusha, often referred to as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, holds significant historical and strategic importance. Following its liberation from occupation in 2020, the Azerbaijani government launched comprehensive restoration and reconstruction projects to revive the city's infrastructure, cultural monuments, and residential areas, aiming to facilitate the return of former residents and integrate the city back into the country's economic and cultural life.
