President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Azerbaijan, Saif Rashid Saif Al Jahwari, on July 17.

President Ilham Aliyev held a discussion with the ambassador, expressing satisfaction with the successful development of relations between the two friendly nations. The President noted the effective cooperation across various sectors, including within the framework of international organizations, and emphasized the significant potential for further strengthening the partnership.
Wishing the ambassador success in his diplomatic mission, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the envoy would contribute to deepening cooperation across the various aspects of the bilateral agenda.
Expressing his pleasure at his appointment to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Saif Rashid Saif Al Jahwari conveyed the greetings of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman to the head of state, noting that the Sultan wishes President Ilham Aliyev good health and continued success for the country.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the kind words and greetings, and requested that his own regards be conveyed to the Sultan of Oman.
The ambassador highlighted the significance of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, which is being commemorated this year. He recalled the visit of Leyla Aliyeva to Oman earlier this year, noting the importance of the meetings and discussions held during that visit, which have made a substantial contribution to the development of bilateral ties.
During the conversation, the parties discussed cooperation in the tourism sector and noted the establishment of a joint investment fund. They also exchanged views on future prospects for increasing the fund's financial capacity.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Oman have historically been characterized by mutual respect and a shared commitment to regional stability. The strengthening of these ties, particularly through economic and investment cooperation, remains a priority for both nations as they seek to diversify their international partnerships.
