Ceyhun Bayramov: Mustafayev və Overçuk sentyabrda görüşəcək

Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia, Shahin Mustafayev and Alexei Overchuk, are scheduled to meet in September to discuss trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.

As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced the upcoming meeting during a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, following bilateral talks in Moscow on July 17.

"First and foremost, I would like to highlight the high intensity of the implementation of joint projects in the trade, economic, and investment spheres between our countries. The meeting of the intergovernmental commission has already been mentioned. Given the necessity of maintaining regular contacts and the work already accomplished, a preliminary agreement has been reached to hold a meeting between the Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia, Shahin Mustafayev and Alexei Overchuk, in September of this year to discuss a number of areas," said Jeyhun Bayramov.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that trade and economic cooperation remains a cornerstone of the bilateral relationship:

"In 2025, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to approximately 4.9 billion dollars, reflecting a positive dynamic of about 2.5% compared to 2024. The intergovernmental commission plays a special role in the entire complex of Russian-Azerbaijani relations, particularly in the context of economy, trade, and investment; its 24th meeting was held in Zangilan this April. Azerbaijan is consistently developing modern transport infrastructure, which we believe is crucial for strengthening regional connectivity. We consider this direction important not only in the context of mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia but also for strengthening the economic resilience of the entire region."

The upcoming meeting between the Deputy Prime Ministers is part of a broader framework of high-level diplomatic and economic engagement between Baku and Moscow. Such intergovernmental commissions are vital instruments for coordinating large-scale infrastructure projects, including the North-South Transport Corridor, which serves as a strategic link for regional trade and logistics.
