Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that a new meeting with US and European partners will be held in the near future.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Zelenskyy made this statement during a press conference held alongside Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, special envoys of US President Donald Trump, who are currently visiting Kyiv.
According to Zelenskyy, the negotiation process has effectively restarted. He noted that the most complex and unresolved issue remains the matter of territorial integrity. The Ukrainian President emphasized that such critical issues can only be resolved at the level of heads of state.
Zelenskyy also stressed the importance of providing Ukraine with security and economic guarantees for the post-war period. He stated that the foundation of this security must be a strong Ukrainian military.
Addressing expectations regarding a swift end to the war, Zelenskyy indicated that this is currently unrealistic: "The war will, in all likelihood, continue through the winter months."
US special envoy Jared Kushner stated that Washington intends to return to a trilateral negotiation format between Ukraine and Russia. Kushner noted that the primary goal of US President Donald Trump is not merely to achieve a ceasefire, but to develop a "peace package" that will ensure long-term stability. He also described a recent meeting with Vladimir Putin as "constructive."
The ongoing diplomatic efforts led by US President Donald Trump's administration mark a significant shift in the international approach to the conflict. As the war enters a critical winter phase, the focus remains on balancing immediate security needs with the complex requirements for a sustainable, long-term peace agreement that respects national sovereignty.
