A person on the international wanted list has been extradited from the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan. According to the Ministry of Justice, Sevinj Alisafa gizi Huseynova, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan and former head of an educational institution, was brought to Baku on April 29 after being located in Turkey through the efforts of the Interpol National Central Bureau in Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Huseynova is accused of committing large-scale fraud and abuse of official powers under Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3, 178.2.4, and 308.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Since 2018, she allegedly deceived several citizens by promising them various positions or employment in exchange for money, misappropriating a total of 69,000 manats. Following a request from the Prosecutor General's Office and the submission of necessary documents, she was handed over by Turkish authorities in Antalya to the responsible officers of the Ministry of Justice's Main Department for International Cooperation and the Penitentiary Service.

This extradition highlights the strengthening legal cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of criminal justice and the return of fugitives. The Ministry of Justice emphasized that such operations reflect Azerbaijan's growing international prestige and the reliable partnership between the two nations. Huseynova has been placed in a pretrial detention center in accordance with a court-ordered arrest warrant as investigations continue.
