The Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan has issued an official appeal to road users regarding the expected windy weather conditions across the country. The department provided this information to the Operative Information Center-OMM.

According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, yellow and orange warnings have been issued for today in Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and several other regions due to anticipated strong winds. Following recent intensive rains, the Main State Traffic Police Department has requested all road users to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to traffic safety regulations to prevent any unpleasant incidents on the roads.

Owners and drivers of trailers, trucks with tents, and long-sized vehicles are advised to be particularly responsible, as movement becomes significantly more difficult and dangerous in high winds. Special attention should be paid to the secure packaging of cargo. Drivers are further recommended to park their vehicles away from objects at risk of falling or sliding, prioritizing indoor parking facilities where possible. Pedestrians are also urged to consider the weather conditions and avoid behaviors that could endanger their lives or the safety of other road users.

In Azerbaijan, the National Hydrometeorological Service regularly issues color-coded weather alerts to inform the public about potential risks. A yellow warning indicates a potential threat in specific areas, while an orange warning signifies that the weather conditions could pose a more serious danger to infrastructure and public safety, requiring heightened preparedness from both citizens and state agencies.
