Azerbaijani citizens are being evacuated from Iran following military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against targets in the neighboring country.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Report, that another group of citizens has been successfully repatriated to Azerbaijan. Between 08:00 and 20:00 today, the safe passage of seven Azerbaijani nationals across the border was ensured.
The evacuation process follows an official advisory issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Given the sharp deterioration of the security situation in Iran, the MFA has urged citizens to refrain from traveling to the country. Those currently in Iran have been advised to leave immediately via Azerbaijan or Turkey, depending on their current location and available transport routes.
The regional security situation has intensified following recent military actions involving US President Donald Trump's administration and Israeli forces. Azerbaijan maintains a policy of ensuring the safety and security of its nationals abroad, particularly in conflict zones. The border checkpoints between Azerbaijan and Iran remain the primary corridor for these evacuation efforts, as the government continues to monitor the situation in the Middle East to provide necessary assistance to its compatriots.
