A magnitude 3.0 earthquake has been recorded in the Caspian Sea, according to the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the seismic activity occurred at 08:55 local time. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 48 kilometers.

Azerbaijan is situated in a seismically active region, with the Caspian Sea basin frequently experiencing minor seismic events. The Republican Seismic Survey Center maintains a comprehensive network of monitoring stations across the country to track tectonic activity and ensure public safety. While earthquakes of this magnitude are often not felt by the population in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, they are routinely monitored by specialists to assess geological shifts in the region.
