Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov departed for an official visit to the People's Republic of China on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the visit is taking place at the invitation of Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and China's Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the two-day visit, scheduled for January 28–29, Jeyhun Bayramov is expected to hold high-level meetings with his Chinese counterpart and other officials to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional security issues.
Relations between Azerbaijan and China have seen significant growth in recent years, particularly within the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative." Both nations continue to strengthen ties in sectors such as transportation, logistics, and energy, with Azerbaijan serving as a key hub in the Middle Corridor connecting Europe and Asia. This visit is expected to further solidify the strategic partnership and political dialogue between Baku and Beijing.
