Xandanyan: TRIPP layihəsi Ermənistan üçün yeni qaz mənbəyi olacaq

The "Trump Route" (TRIPP) initiative could potentially serve as a new gas supply source for Armenia, according to Sarkis Khandanyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract party in the Armenian parliament.

As reported by Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media, Khandanyan stated during a recent briefing that the project involves the construction of a gas pipeline through Armenian territory. He described this as a viable opportunity to diversify the country's energy infrastructure.

Addressing questions regarding current energy dependencies, Khandanyan noted that if the issue of revising Russian gas prices arises, Armenia intends to discuss the matter with its Russian partners in a constructive manner. However, he emphasized that energy diversification remains a strategic priority for the nation.

Khandanyan also highlighted that during a recent visit by Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure to Iran, the parties discussed the possibility of increasing gas supplies from the Islamic Republic. Furthermore, he did not rule out the theoretical possibility of direct gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Armenia, framing it as a potential scenario for future regional energy cooperation.

The TRIPP initiative, often discussed in the context of regional connectivity and infrastructure development, reflects ongoing efforts by countries in the South Caucasus to secure reliable energy transit routes and reduce reliance on single-source suppliers.
