Azerbaijan is hosting a record number of participants at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev announced during the opening ceremony.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state emphasized the scale of the event in his address. "This is the second-largest international event hosted in Azerbaijan after COP29," President Ilham Aliyev stated, highlighting the country's capacity to organize high-level global summits and its commitment to international cooperation.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, serves as the world's premier conference on urban issues, focusing on sustainable development and the challenges of rapid urbanization. By hosting the 13th session, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its position as a key venue for international dialogue on global development, urban planning, and infrastructure, following its successful hosting of the COP29 climate summit.
