Simultaneous translation in eight languages will be provided during the events of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku. This was announced as President Ilham Aliyev visited the Baku Olympic Stadium to inspect the ongoing preparations for the prestigious international gathering.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the translation services will cover the six official languages of the United Nations—Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish—alongside Azerbaijani and Turkish. Furthermore, international sign language services will be available to ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities during the forum's sessions.
Scheduled for May 17-22 in Baku, WUF13 is organized in close cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). The forum serves as the world's premier conference on urban issues, focusing on sustainable urbanization, the development of "smart cities," and the implementation of innovative urban solutions. Hosting this event underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a global hub for international dialogue and its commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals regarding urban growth and infrastructure.
