The standard speed limits on the Zigh Circle-Airport highway have been fully restored following temporary reductions due to adverse weather conditions.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs Intelligent Transport Management Center informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the speed limits, which had been reduced by 20 km/h on certain lanes due to rainy weather, have now been returned to their previous state as road conditions stabilized.
The temporary restrictions were implemented as a safety measure following intense precipitation in the capital. On April 5-6, the amount of rainfall in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula was recorded at four times the monthly norm, leading to increased risks of hydroplaning and reduced visibility for motorists. The restoration of the speed limit signals a return to normal traffic operations on one of the country's most critical transport arteries connecting the city center with the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
