The Azerbaijan women's national volleyball team is set to face the Turkish national team in the Round of 16 of the European Volleyball Championship.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the match will take place on September 1 at 19:00 Baku time at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall in Istanbul. The match will be officiated by referees Predrag Balandzic and Theodora Kyriopoulou.
The Azerbaijani team competed in Group C alongside Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, and Spain. The national team finished the group stage in third place, securing victories in three out of their five matches.
The Turkish team, meanwhile, advanced from Group A, having defeated Slovenia, Latvia, Hungary, and Germany. Despite a 2:3 loss to Poland in their final group match, the Turkish side finished the group stage in second place.
The winner of this knockout stage match will advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament. The match will be broadcast live on the TRT 1 television channel.
