Venezuela has successfully exported its first shipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), marking a significant shift in the country's energy export strategy.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the announcement was made by Delcy Rodriguez, who is currently exercising presidential powers.

"I am proud to announce this event. The tanker 'Chrysopigi Lady' has departed Venezuela carrying the first batch of liquefied petroleum gas," Rodriguez stated. While the official confirmed the departure of the vessel, the specific volume of the LPG cargo delivered in this inaugural shipment was not disclosed. Rodriguez expressed confidence that the commencement of LPG exports would contribute positively to the economic well-being of the Venezuelan people.

This development comes as Venezuela seeks to diversify its energy portfolio and revitalize its hydrocarbon industry amid ongoing global market fluctuations. Liquefied petroleum gas, a versatile fuel used for heating, cooking, and industrial applications, represents a strategic addition to the nation's traditional crude oil exports. The move is seen by industry analysts as an effort to tap into regional demand for cleaner-burning fuels and to secure new streams of foreign currency revenue for the national economy.
