A light aircraft has crashed in a field in the county of Essex, located in the southeast of England, resulting in the deaths of two people.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from the BBC, police officer Morgan Cronin confirmed the details during a press conference.
"The two-seater Cessna aircraft was conducting a short flight, but unfortunately, it did not return. The identities of the deceased have not yet been officially confirmed," Cronin stated.
Officer Cronin noted that the aircraft had departed from North Weald Airfield. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
General aviation accidents involving light aircraft, such as the Cessna model, are subject to rigorous investigation by air accident authorities in the United Kingdom. These investigations typically examine factors such as mechanical failure, weather conditions, and pilot error to ensure future aviation safety.
