An official welcome ceremony for the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, was held in Gabala on April 27. President Ilham Aliyev received the Czech Prime Minister at the square where the national flags of both nations were flying in honor of the high-ranking guest.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a guard of honor was lined up for the Prime Minister. After the commander of the guard of honor delivered his report, the national anthems of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan were performed. The leaders then watched the guard of honor march past to the accompaniment of a military march. Members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, while members of the Czech delegation were presented to President Ilham Aliyev. The ceremony concluded with an official photo session.
The visit highlights the growing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic, focusing on expanding economic cooperation and energy security. Gabala, a major cultural and tourism hub in Azerbaijan, frequently serves as a venue for high-level diplomatic meetings, showcasing the country's regional development and its capacity to host international events outside of the capital, Baku. This meeting is expected to further strengthen the bilateral ties and facilitate new avenues for investment between the two countries.
