A special "WUF13 Boulevard" has been established at the Baku Olympic Stadium to accommodate participants of the upcoming 13th World Urban Forum. The open-air zone is designed to provide a modern urban environment for international delegates attending the event in the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev was briefed on the progress of the site during his inspection of the preparations at the Baku Olympic Stadium. The boulevard covers an area of 2.5 hectares and is intended for the free movement, recreation, and catering services of the participants. The area also serves as a public space connecting to the main "Expo zone," allowing guests to experience a realistic urban atmosphere within the forum venue.
The WUF13 is scheduled to take place in Baku from May 17 to 22. Organized in close cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the forum serves as a premier global platform for discussing sustainable urbanization, "smart city" technologies, and innovative urban solutions. Azerbaijan's hosting of this event underscores its growing role in international urban development initiatives and its commitment to implementing the New Urban Agenda. The forum is expected to bring together government officials, urban planners, and experts from around the world to address the challenges of rapid urbanization and climate change.
