An official welcome ceremony has been held in Baku for the Vice President of the United States, James David Vance. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed the US Vice President at the square where the national flags of both nations were flying.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a guard of honor was lined up in honor of the US Vice President. The chief of the guard of honor reported to Vice President James David Vance, followed by the performance of the national anthems of the United States and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to the Vice President, while the US delegation was presented to President Ilham Aliyev. The ceremony concluded with a military march past the leaders and an official photo session.

This high-level visit underscores the strengthening diplomatic ties between Baku and Washington under the administration of US President Donald Trump. Azerbaijan remains a key strategic partner in the South Caucasus, particularly in areas of energy security, regional stability, and economic cooperation. The meeting in the capital serves as a significant platform to further enhance bilateral relations and address mutual interests within the framework of international security and the Caspian region's development.
