Azerbaijan and the United States have established five primary objectives for bilateral cooperation within the framework of a new Strategic Partnership Charter.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the goals were outlined in the text of the Charter signed today by President Ilham Aliyev and US Vice President JD Vance. The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening the diplomatic and economic ties between Baku and Washington.
The first priority of the partnership is identified as regional connectivity and energy security. Specifically, Baku and Washington intend to expand cooperation to support economic growth and regional links, with a particular focus on the development of the Middle Corridor.
The Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), is a critical logistics corridor connecting China and the European Union through Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. This agreement underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a pivotal energy and transit hub in Eurasia. Furthermore, the strategic dialogue between Baku and Washington reflects a deepening commitment to diversifying energy routes and enhancing stability in the South Caucasus region.
