Officers from the Air Transport Main Customs Office of the State Customs Committee have intercepted a shipment of undeclared goods, including 17 mobile phones and a significant quantity of spare parts and accessories, during routine border control measures.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the State Customs Committee, the items were discovered during a customs inspection of luggage belonging to a citizen of Azerbaijan arriving on the Istanbul-Baku flight.

During the search, customs officials uncovered 17 "iPhone" brand smartphones of various models, along with 190 screens and accessories for various mobile phone brands, which had not been declared to customs authorities as required by law. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan frequently conducts such inspections at the country's international airports to prevent the illegal import of goods and ensure compliance with national customs regulations. Travelers entering Azerbaijan are required to declare goods exceeding established duty-free limits to avoid confiscation and potential administrative or legal penalties.
