Traffic movement on the main roads of Baku will be restricted due to large-scale repair works. These measures are being implemented to ensure the comfortable and safe movement of citizens, as well as within the framework of preparations for the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Operative Information Center-OMM reports this with reference to the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads.
According to the information, taking into account the operational condition of the road surface, repair works are planned in the following areas:
- On the overpass leading from Heydar Aliyev Avenue to Babek Avenue;
- On Ziya Bunyadov Avenue (in the direction of "Koroglu" metro station).
The execution dates and duration of the works are set from 23:00 on April 9 to 07:00 on April 10, and from 23:00 on April 10 to 07:00 on April 11.
On the specified dates, traffic movement will be completely restricted on the overpass from Heydar Aliyev Avenue to Babek Avenue, while movement on Ziya Bunyadov Avenue (towards "Koroglu" metro station) will be partially restricted.
"Drivers are requested to treat the ongoing work with understanding and to use alternative routes in advance according to their direction of travel," the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads stated.
The World Urban Forum (WUF), established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Hosting the 13th session in Azerbaijan underscores the capital's growing role as a hub for international events and its commitment to modernizing urban infrastructure. These road improvements in Baku are part of a broader initiative to enhance the city's transport logistics ahead of high-level international delegations arriving in the Republic.
