In observance of the holy festival of Eid al-Adha, Muslims across Azerbaijan are gathering in mosques to perform the traditional Eid prayer.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the morning prayer was conducted at the Ajdarbey Mosque at 08:00. Meanwhile, the prayer service at the Taza Pir Mosque is scheduled to take place at 09:00.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant religious holidays in the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command, before God provided a ram to sacrifice instead. In Azerbaijan, the holiday is celebrated with communal prayers, charitable acts, and the distribution of sacrificial meat to those in need, reflecting the country's deep-rooted traditions of solidarity and religious tolerance.
