On July 10, Azerbaijan is expected to experience a significant rise in temperatures, with thermometers reaching up to 37°C in some regions. The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a weather advisory regarding the upcoming heatwave.

In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather is expected to be predominantly dry. Winds will shift from north-westerly to north-easterly during the day. Temperatures are forecasted to range between 20-23°C at night and 30-35°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is expected to be 757 mm Hg, with relative humidity fluctuating between 75-85% at night and 55-65% during the day.

Across the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is also expected to remain largely dry, though there is a possibility of short-term rain, thunderstorms, and hail in some mountainous areas during the day. Fog is anticipated in certain mountainous regions during the night and morning hours, accompanied by moderate easterly winds. Temperatures in the regions are expected to reach 20-25°C at night and 32-37°C during the day, while mountainous areas will see cooler conditions ranging from 11-16°C at night to 20-25°C, and in some locations up to 28-30°C, during the day.

Context: Summer heatwaves are a recurring climatic phenomenon in Azerbaijan, particularly in the Absheron Peninsula and the lowland regions. Health authorities typically advise the public to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, stay hydrated, and wear light-colored clothing to mitigate the risks associated with high temperatures, such as heat exhaustion and dehydration.
