Unstable weather conditions are expected to prevail across Azerbaijan from the morning of May 21 through the evening of May 25, starting from the northern and western regions.

The National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a warning regarding intermittent precipitation across various parts of the country, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM. Forecasters predict intense rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail in specific areas, with snow expected in high-altitude mountainous zones. There is a high probability of short-term intensification of precipitation on May 21 and 22.

The service further noted that the heavy rainfall is likely to increase water levels in local rivers. Authorities have warned of potential short-term flash floods and mudflows in several mountain rivers during this period. Citizens and travelers are advised to exercise caution in affected areas, particularly near riverbeds and mountainous terrain.

Such weather patterns are characteristic of the spring season in Azerbaijan, where the intersection of diverse climate zones often leads to rapid atmospheric changes. The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these patterns to provide early warnings for agriculture, transportation, and public safety sectors, ensuring that regional infrastructure remains prepared for seasonal fluctuations in water volume.
