Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities have successfully removed nearly 40 kilograms of various narcotics from illegal circulation during recent operations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs that during operational measures conducted by police officers on April 3, approximately 38.4 kilograms of narcotic substances and 2,970 methadone pills were discovered and seized. The ministry emphasized that resolute measures to combat the illegal drug trade are being continued across the country.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan regularly conducts large-scale operations to prevent the smuggling and distribution of prohibited substances. These efforts are part of a broader national strategy to ensure public safety and combat transnational organized crime. In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly strengthened its border security and domestic surveillance to intercept drug trafficking routes passing through the region.
