Ünal Üstel: Azərbaycanla ortaq mədəniyyətimiz naminə çalışırıq

"I am delighted to be in Azerbaijan. I would like to thank everyone who created the conditions for this event. We are working here for the sake of our common culture and our future," said Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ünal Üstel during his official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Prime Minister made these remarks during a press conference held as part of his visit to the country. He noted that the Turkic world is currently stronger than ever before.

"There is a bond of heart between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, based not only on diplomatic relations but also on the brotherhood of the same nation living in different geographies, shared values, and faith in the future. Culture is the strongest bridge connecting peoples," Üstel stated.

The Prime Minister further emphasized the political reality on the island, noting, "The existence of two separate peoples and democracies on the island of Cyprus is a reality, and this truth must be accepted. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has upheld its democratic values for years. In this regard, the strong support demonstrated by Azerbaijan is extremely valuable to us. Azerbaijan has always stood by us in our rightful cause, and we will never forget this friendship."

Congratulating the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of National Salvation Day, the Prime Minister added, "June 15 is not just a date on the calendar; it is the embodiment of Azerbaijan's unity, solidarity, independence, and strength. We consider Azerbaijan's joy as our own joy and its successes as our own successes. I wish that unity and equality in your country will always remain strong."

The visit of the TRNC Prime Minister to Baku underscores the growing diplomatic and cultural engagement between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Such high-level exchanges are part of a broader effort to strengthen ties within the Turkic world, fostering cooperation in education, culture, and political dialogue.
