Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that the country's armed forces have successfully conducted strikes against a series of critical infrastructure facilities located within Russian territory.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Zelenskyy stated in a social media announcement that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to provide a "just response" to Russian aggression.
The head of state noted that, in addition to an oil refinery in the Ryazan region, oil processing facilities in Perm and Tatarstan were also targeted by long-range missiles and drone strikes. These operations are reportedly aimed at degrading Russia's military-industrial capacity.
Zelenskyy further announced the destruction of facilities in the Kursk region used for the storage and launch of offensive unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Additionally, reports indicate that another military target located in the Black Sea basin was successfully struck.
The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which escalated significantly in February 2022, has seen both sides increasingly utilize long-range capabilities to target strategic assets deep behind the front lines. These strikes represent a shift in tactical focus, as Ukraine seeks to disrupt the logistics and supply chains that support Russian military operations.
