Several high-profile Turkish celebrities, including actress Serenay Sarıkaya, actor Onur Tuna, and singer Mabel Matiz (Fatih Karaca), have been detained as part of a large-scale investigation into the use and sale of narcotics in Istanbul.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Haber Global, the operation was conducted across multiple districts of Istanbul, including Besiktas, Sariyer, Beyoglu, Kagithane, and Uskudar. While initial reports indicated that 14 individuals were detained, a broader list of public figures has been brought in for questioning, including Berkay Sahin, Tan Tasci, Yagmur Unal, Mirgun Sirri Cabas, Hakan Aydin (Blok 3), and Feyza Civelek, among others.
Turkish law enforcement agencies have intensified their crackdown on illegal substance distribution in recent years, frequently conducting high-visibility operations in major metropolitan areas. Istanbul, serving as the country's cultural and entertainment hub, remains a primary focus for such anti-narcotics initiatives.
