The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MSB) held its weekly press briefing at the "Ay Yildiz" Joint Headquarters, which is currently under construction. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the briefing covered the latest developments regarding the NATO Leaders' Summit, counter-terrorism operations, border security, and ongoing defense industry projects.

Ministry officials highlighted that the "Ay Yildiz" headquarters is a strategic project designed to strengthen the joint operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces, integrating modern technological infrastructure.

The ministry emphasized that the recent NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government has contributed to strengthening solidarity among allies and fostering cooperation in the Euro-Atlantic security space. Officials reiterated that Türkiye will continue to operate as a reliable and responsible ally within the NATO framework.

Regarding counter-terrorism and border security, the ministry reported that four PKK terrorists surrendered over the past week. Additionally, the construction of a 240-meter floating bridge over the Euphrates River in the Deir ez-Zor region of Syria has been completed. Border security measures also intensified, with 316 individuals apprehended while attempting to cross the border illegally, and 995 others prevented from crossing. Furthermore, 109 kilograms of narcotics were seized during operations along the Van border line.

During the briefing, officials underscored the necessity of lifting US "CAATSA" sanctions and other restrictions imposed on the Turkish defense industry. Regarding recent statements from Greece, the ministry reaffirmed Türkiye's commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability, advocating for the resolution of outstanding issues through dialogue.

As a key NATO member, Türkiye plays a pivotal role in regional security, particularly given its strategic location bridging Europe and Asia. The nation maintains the second-largest standing military force within the alliance, actively contributing to collective defense and regional stability initiatives.
