The Turkish government has officially denied reports suggesting it is acting as an intermediary in US plans to supply weapons to Ukraine. Ankara has categorically rejected claims that it is facilitating the transfer of military equipment to the conflict zone.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a government source stated that Ankara is unaware of any such plans or agreements. The official emphasized that the Turkish government has no information regarding the intentions of the US Department of State on this matter and suggested that inquiries concerning these reports should be directed to the US side.
These reports emerged following references to US Congressional documents, which allegedly indicated that the State Department had approved the transfer of ATACMS ballistic missiles and MLRS multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine via Türkiye. The documents reportedly claimed that the intended shipments included 2,524 M26 cluster munitions and 47,000 M509A1 203mm artillery shells. Türkiye, a NATO member, has consistently sought to maintain a balanced diplomatic position throughout the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, often positioning itself as a mediator for peace negotiations.
