UEFA appoints Azerbaijani referee Tural Gurbanov for Conference League

FIFA referee Tural Gurbanov has received a new international appointment, marking another significant milestone in his officiating career. According to the official website of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, Gurbanov has been appointed as the head referee for the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round return leg match between Dečić (Montenegro) and Liepaja (Latvia).

Gurbanov will be assisted by Asiman Azizli and Gulnura Akbarzada, while Kamal Umudlu will serve as the fourth official for the match.

The encounter is scheduled to take place on July 15 at the Tuško Polje Stadium in Tuzi, Montenegro, with kickoff set for 22:30 Baku time.

The UEFA Europa Conference League, now rebranded as the UEFA Conference League, serves as the third tier of European club football. Such international assignments are crucial for Azerbaijani referees, as they provide opportunities to gain experience in high-stakes European competitions and contribute to the development and recognition of Azerbaijani football officiating on the global stage.
