US President Donald Trump has declined to provide a guarantee for a ceasefire should negotiations with Iran commence, emphasizing that any cessation of hostilities depends on Tehran's actions.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing NBC News, the president addressed the possibility of halting military pressure to facilitate diplomatic progress. When asked whether the United States would be prepared to stop its strikes to move negotiations forward, US President Donald Trump responded with caution.

"I don't know. Will they be able to meet our demands? So far, they haven't been able to do that," the president stated, indicating that the administration maintains a firm stance regarding its prerequisites for diplomatic engagement.

The relationship between Washington and Tehran has remained a focal point of global geopolitics, characterized by a series of economic sanctions and strategic maneuvers. Historically, the U.S. has demanded significant changes in Iran's regional policies and nuclear program as a precursor to any long-term stability agreements. This latest statement underscores the administration's "maximum pressure" approach, suggesting that the burden of proof for peace lies with the Iranian leadership to demonstrate compliance with international and American expectations.
