A senior Iranian official has demanded that US President Donald Trump issue a formal apology to the Iranian people regarding statements concerning Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Ali Shirazi, the head of the ideological-political organization of the Iranian police, stated that the US leader must admit that any rhetoric involving the targeting of Iran's leadership is a grave error.
Shirazi emphasized that US President Donald Trump should "apologize to the Iranian people and admit before the world that the idea of killing our leader was a mistake." Furthermore, the official reiterated Tehran's hostile stance toward Israel, describing it as an "unchanging principle" rooted in religious texts. He added that the Iranian armed forces remain in a state of full combat readiness to deliver a strong response to any perceived aggression.
Relations between Washington and Tehran have remained strained following US President Donald Trump's return to the White House in January 2025. The rhetoric from Tehran reflects ongoing regional tensions, particularly concerning Iran's nuclear program and its influence in the Middle East. This latest demand comes amid heightened military posturing in the region, as both nations navigate a complex landscape of sanctions and diplomatic standoffs.
