The leaders of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) signed the Turkistan Declaration following an informal summit held in Turkistan, Kazakhstan.

The Organization of Turkic States, which includes Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, serves as a primary platform for enhancing political, economic, and cultural ties across the Turkic world. The city of Turkistan, recognized as the spiritual capital of the Turkic world, was chosen as the venue to emphasize the shared heritage and historical bonds between the member states. This summit and the resulting declaration are expected to accelerate regional projects in transport, energy, and trade, further solidifying Azerbaijan's strategic role within the organization.
