The Ministry of Defense under the interim government of Syria has announced a total cessation of military operations in the northeastern part of the country.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the SANA news agency released information regarding the suspension of hostilities across all frontlines.

According to official statements, the ceasefire has come into effect across all combat zones. The primary objectives of this decision are to facilitate the safe return of displaced residents to their homes and to ensure the restoration of state institutions and public services in liberated territories. Reports indicate that the interim President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, has officially approved a new reconciliation agreement with Kurdish formations.

Under the terms of the agreement, the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa in the northeast will transition fully to the control of the interim government. The military is tasked with securing all border crossing points in the region, as well as maintaining the safety of strategically significant oil and gas fields.

This development follows a period of significant political transition in Syria, as the interim administration seeks to consolidate control and stabilize the nation after years of conflict. The integration of resource-rich regions like Deir ez-Zor is considered a critical step in the country's economic recovery and the re-establishment of centralized governance. International observers view these reconciliation efforts as a pivotal moment in determining the future administrative structure of the Syrian state.
