As of August 1, Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves reached 86.8149 billion US dollars, marking a significant milestone in the nation's economic stability.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited data from the State Statistical Committee, this figure represents a 12.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
The growth trend remained consistent throughout the summer, with the country's strategic reserves increasing by 1.046 billion US dollars during the month of July alone. For context, by the end of 2025, Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves stood at 85.1 billion US dollars, demonstrating a continued upward trajectory in fiscal accumulation.
Strategic foreign exchange reserves are a critical component of Azerbaijan's macroeconomic stability, serving as a buffer against external economic shocks and supporting the national currency's exchange rate. The consistent growth of these reserves reflects the country's prudent fiscal policy and the effective management of revenues from the energy sector, which remains a cornerstone of the national economy.
