The United States has significantly strengthened its naval forces in the Middle East.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has released information regarding the new deployments.

According to the statement, the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush, leading its strike group, arrived in the region on April 23 to reinforce maritime capabilities in the Middle East. Information shared on the X platform indicates that the vessel is currently positioned in the Indian Ocean, within CENTCOM's area of responsibility.

The strike group includes the destroyers Mason, Donald Cook, and Ross, all of which are equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles boasting a range of 1,600 kilometers. With the addition of these assets, the United States now maintains three aircraft carrier strike groups in the Middle East. CENTCOM further noted that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, accompanied by 16 warships, is currently on combat duty in the Arabian Sea, while the USS Gerald R. Ford is operating in the Red Sea alongside its escort destroyers.

This strategic buildup comes as US President Donald Trump continues to prioritize regional stability and the protection of international shipping lanes. The deployment of multiple carrier strike groups is a standard military procedure used by Washington to project power and deter potential threats in volatile regions. Such maneuvers are often coordinated with regional allies to ensure the security of global energy supplies and maritime commerce passing through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
