The administration of US President Donald Trump has suspended the processing of immigration visa applications as part of a broader tightening of the country's immigration policies.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from Reuters, the US Department of State has initiated a global training exercise across all US embassies and consulates worldwide starting this Tuesday. Consequently, the acceptance of visa applications and the scheduling of appointments will be unavailable until the training concludes.

Reuters notes that the Trump administration is currently conducting a large-scale campaign aimed at increasing deportations and hardening immigration policies. This approach includes the potential revocation of existing visas and green cards, as well as the rejection of new applications based on various criteria, including political affiliations or participation in specific demonstrations.

The US administration maintains that these measures are essential for strengthening the nation's internal security. Such administrative pauses in consular services, while rare, are typically implemented to ensure staff alignment with new federal directives or to conduct security-focused operational reviews.
