Saudi Arabian delegation arrives in Baku for WUF13

A delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister and co-chair of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, Samir Sharifov, met with the Saudi delegation on May 16. During the meeting, both parties expressed satisfaction with the hosting of WUF13 in Baku and highlighted the importance of Saudi Arabia's participation in the forum. The officials noted that the current state of economic cooperation between the two nations remains satisfactory, while exchanging views on modern urban planning and the future prospects of bilateral economic relations.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Hosting WUF13 in Baku underscores Azerbaijan's growing role in international diplomacy and its commitment to sustainable urban development. The event serves as a critical platform for high-level officials, urban planners, and experts to address the challenges of rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, economies, and climate change globally.
