Sergey Lavrov: Rusiya hərbi-texniki tədbirlər görəcək

Russia will take appropriate military-technical measures in response to the militarization of Greenland, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized Moscow's readiness to counter any military potential established in the territory that targets Russia.

"Of course, if Greenland is militarized and military capabilities directed against Russia are created there, we will take appropriate countermeasures, including military-technical measures," Lavrov stated during his remarks regarding regional security concerns.

The strategic importance of Greenland and the broader Arctic region has increased significantly in recent years due to shifting geopolitical dynamics and the opening of new maritime routes. As a key territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, Greenland hosts the Thule Air Base (Pituffik Space Base), a critical component of the United States' global early warning radar system. Russia has consistently expressed concerns over the expansion of NATO-aligned military infrastructure in the High North, viewing such developments as a direct challenge to its northern maritime borders and security interests in the Arctic circle.
