The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially refuted claims made by US President Donald Trump regarding alleged backchannel negotiations between Washington and IRGC representatives concerning war-related issues.

This was reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Iranian news agency Tasnim.

General Hossein Mohebi, a representative of the IRGC, explicitly denied the existence of any such dialogue. "There are no negotiations taking place between IRGC representatives and the Americans," Mohebi stated. He emphasized that the IRGC acts as the "voice and arm of the Iranian people" and asserts its position directly on the battlefield rather than through covert channels.

Mohebi further clarified that diplomatic matters fall under the jurisdiction of other Iranian state structures. "According to current information and statements from the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are currently no negotiations being held with the US, even at a diplomatic level," the IRGC representative added.

The IRGC, founded in 1979 following the Islamic Revolution, serves as a critical branch of the Iranian Armed Forces, tasked with protecting the country's Islamic system. Tensions between Tehran and Washington have remained high for decades, characterized by a lack of formal diplomatic relations and ongoing disputes over regional influence, nuclear programs, and sanctions. The denial by the IRGC underscores the complex and often opaque nature of communication channels between the two nations, particularly during periods of heightened geopolitical friction.
