A parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly), Sahiba Gafarova, is on a visit to Uzbekistan to participate in the II Asian Women's Forum.
The Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) informed Operative Information Center-OMM that Sahiba Gafarova was welcomed at the Bukhara International Airport by Gulnara Marufova, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev, and other official figures.
As part of the visit, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) is scheduled to deliver a speech at the official opening ceremony of the Asian Women's Forum and hold several bilateral meetings with participating heads of delegations. The discussions are expected to focus on the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the expansion of ties between the legislative bodies of the participating nations.
The II Asian Women's Forum serves as a significant platform for discussing the role of women in sustainable development, leadership, and the promotion of gender equality across the continent. Such international gatherings are crucial for Azerbaijan as the country continues to strengthen its diplomatic and cultural ties with Central Asian nations, particularly Uzbekistan, within the framework of Turkic cooperation and regional partnership initiatives.
