Sabah FC has secured a 1-0 victory against Finland's KuPS in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League second qualifying round match. The encounter took place at the Bank Respublika Arena in Masazir, Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the decisive moment of the match came in stoppage time of the first half, when midfielder Veljko Simic scored the only goal of the game in the 45+1st minute, securing a narrow but crucial advantage for the Azerbaijani side.
The return leg between the two clubs is scheduled for July 28 in Finland. The winner of this aggregate tie will advance to the next round, where they are set to face the winner of the duel between Denmark's Aarhus and Poland's Lech Poznan.
