Azerbaijan's National Hydrometeorological Service has released the official weather forecast for February 2, predicting mostly dry conditions across the country with varying temperatures.
According to information provided by the National Hydrometeorological Service to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will experience changeable cloudy skies and primarily rainless weather. A north-west wind is expected to be replaced by a mild south-west wind in the second half of the day. Temperatures in the capital will range from 3–5°C at night to 7–10°C during the day, while atmospheric pressure will rise from 755 mm to 760 mm Hg. Relative humidity is forecast at 75–85% at night and 60–70% during the day.
In the regions of Azerbaijan, weather conditions are expected to remain mostly stable, though some areas may see precipitation, with snow forecast for mountainous districts during the day. Fog is anticipated in various locations, and the western wind may intensify periodically in certain areas.
Regional temperatures are projected to fluctuate between 3–8°C at night and 12–17°C during the day. In mountainous areas, temperatures will range from 3°C frost to 2°C at night, reaching 5–10°C during the daylight hours. These conditions reflect the diverse climatic profile of Azerbaijan, where coastal areas like Baku often experience milder maritime influences compared to the more dramatic temperature shifts in the inland and high-altitude regions.
The National Hydrometeorological Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, provides these regular updates to ensure public safety and to assist various sectors, including agriculture and transportation, in planning for atmospheric changes. Such variations in wind and temperature are typical for the winter season in the South Caucasus, as the region transitions through different pressure systems.
