The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that it conducted overnight strikes against port facilities located in the Izmail and Reni districts of Ukraine's Odessa region.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, the attacks specifically targeted a command center belonging to the Ukrainian Naval Forces at the Reni port.
Furthermore, reports indicate that in the Izmail port, strikes hit a temporary deployment point for Ukrainian military personnel, as well as infrastructure facilities utilized for the transport and storage of military cargo.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the operations were carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Official statements from Moscow did not provide specific details regarding the extent of the damage or potential casualties resulting from the strikes.
The ports of Reni and Izmail, situated on the Danube River, have become critical logistical hubs for Ukraine following the collapse of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. These facilities serve as vital transit points for agricultural exports and military logistics, making them frequent focal points of military activity in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
